Talk About Car Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

The temperature of the car engine coolant is an important parameter of the engine electronic control module to correct the fuel injection and ignition of the engine. The temperature of the car engine coolant is monitored by the engine coolant temperature sensor installed at the engine outlet.


Many NTC temperature sensors for detecting the temperature of the car coolant are installed by flange, threads, and immersion coolant shells. During the operation of the engine, the temperature difference between the environmental temperature and the engine coolant temperature of the engine, and the thermal balance of the metal shell affects the accuracy of the output signal of the cooling sensor of the coolant. That is, during the engine work, the external ambient temperature is lower than the temperature of the engine coolant, the shell flange is in the external environment of the engine, the shell thread and the lower shell are in the engine coolant. The heat loss of high temperature to the low temperature caused the output temperature of the engine coolant temperature sensor to the real temperature of the engine coolant, which hindered the control of the engine electronic control module to the engine fuel injection and ignition.
